collegeFor me, year 2008 is a year of change. Transfer of schools, and mostly a change of lifestyle. From 2006 I attended a boarding school at Santa Catalina school in Monterey, California. I have attended high school without my parents for almost 2 years. And now, to come home and see my parents after school is simply a successful change.
But here is the question. What about the new school, KIS? Many people around me had told me it would be better for my future to stay in the states. People say colleges prefer U.S schools compared to international schools. Because of these uncertain and unnecessary perspectives of people, it was a really big concern for me deciding rather I should stay in such a depressing life at the dormitory or accept the negative perspectives and move back to Korea. I told my parents my concerns and their reply was simple. “Do your best here and show people international school students are in fact successful in being accepted to famous colleges!” At first, it did not help at all, but after thinking about it for a while, this idea motivated me into thinking that it all depends on how I do. If I do a fabulous job here, then I will have a fabulous college acceptance list in 2 years! And even if I did indeed stay in the states, I can only have a long favorable college acceptance list depending on how I do.
What matters is how I do.
